MORE Veteran American cinematographer Roy Overbaugh was closely associated with director John S. Robertson, for whom he photographed more than fifteen films from 1919-1925, including the often revived Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920) starring John Barrymore. Later in that decade, Overbaugh was behind the camera on two of the most beautiful films of the entire silent era, Henry King's The White Sister (1923) and Romola (1924), both filmed on location in Tuscany, Italy. Overbaugh worked fairly steadily through the mid-1930s, less often thereafter. He was credited as a second-unit cameraman on Alfred Hitchcock's Foreign Correspondent (1940). ~ Hans J.
