Fred G. Sullivan made independent films during the 1980s. His best-known work, and his debut, Cold River, a docudrama that -- but for actor Richard Jaeckel -- featured a cast of unknowns to tell the story of how the residents living around a pristine Adirondack lake save it from rapacious land developers. His other well-known film is the semi-autobiographical The Beer Drinker's Guide to Fitness and Film Making (1988).
