Only a year after passing the New York Bar Exams, practicing attorney Daniel Taradash won a national play writing contest and abruptly decided to change careers. As a screenwriter, Taradash worked alone or in collaboration. He is particularly noted for his adaptation of literature. In 1953, he won an Oscar for the screenplay for From Here to Eternity.
