MORE A graduate of Vienna's Polytechnic Institute and Conservatory of Music and Chicago's Dearborn College, Carl Krusada enjoyed a varied career that included concert violinist, fiction and advertising writer, gold prospector, magazine editor, playwright, and drama critic. He entered the burgeoning film business in 1917 and continued to supply mostly B-Western and action screenplays until the early '40s, often using such pen names as Val Cleveland, Tom Gibson and Carl Hartman. He is perhaps best remembered for penning the independently produced action serials Mystery Trooper and The Sign of the Wolf (both 1931). He died in 1951 at the age of 71. ~ Hans J.
