Phillip Bradley "Brad" Bird (born September 24, 1957) is an American director, voice actor, animator and screenwriter. He is best known for writing and directing Pixar's The Incredibles (2004) and Ratatouille (2007). He also adapted and directed the critically acclaimed animated 1999 Warner Brothers film The Iron Giant. He made his live-action film directing debut with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011).

According to review aggregation website Metacritic, the first three have received a rare "universal acclaim" rating (with Mission Impossible only reached "Generally favorable"), tallying together to give Brad Bird an average score of 86 out of 100 per film, making him one of the most acclaimed living filmmakers, animated or otherwise.
He holds the record of the most Annie Awards wins with eight, winning Best Directing and Best Writing for both The Iron Giant, The Incredibles and Ratatouille (all of them also won Best Animated Feature), as well as Best Voice Acting for The Incredibles and the Winsor McCay Award.
