The Z8 was the production variant of the 1997 Z07 concept car, the exterior was designed by Henrik Fisker and the interior was designed by Scott Lempert at the BMW Group Research and Innovation Center, Munich. The Z07 originally was designed as a styling exercise intended to evoke and celebrate the 1956-'59 BMW 507. The Z07 caused a sensation at the '97 Tokyo Auto Show. www.mbquartusa.com Benzo set out to create a listening experience in this 2001 BMW Z8 while maintaining the stock appearance as much as possible. This entire sound system is MB Quart! There are Premium PVI216 6.5" mids under the dash, Premium PTK-40 WideSphere tweeters in the doors, Premium PVI268 6x8's under each seat in the factory enclosures, Premium PTK-40's behind the seats in the factory locations and Discus DKH116 6.5" coaxials in custom fiberglass enclosures behind each seat. All of these speakers are power by the MB Quart Nautic NAU460 and NAU660 amplifiers. This vehicle has such balanced sound that we spent hours listening to it in the shop. Being that this Z8 is one of only 1600 produced for North America, we didn't want to take away from this amazing vehicle, but rather add to the experience for the driver.
