Battle Royale (バトル・ロワイアル, Batoru rouaiaru) is a 2000 Japanese action-thriller film based on the novel of the same name by Koushun Takami. It was directed by Kinji Fukasaku, written by Kenta Fukasaku, and stars Tatsuya Fujiwara, Aki Maeda, Taro Yamamoto, Chiaki Kuriyama, Kou Shibasaki, Masanobu Ando and Takeshi Kitano.
