The war never stops: in a different time, on a different battlefield, hiding deeply into the folds of History¦ They are called Chiropterans. They can change their form and disguise as human beings, but they are not. They are immortal creatures that feed off blood. The Blood+ series takes place in present day in Okinawa City when Saya Otonashi's calm life is shattered with an attack by a Chiropteran. She learns that she is the only one who can defeat them, and she embarks on a journey with her family and allies to rid the world of chiropteran and rediscover her identity. The Blood+ anime series premiered in 2005 with 50 episodes airing through 2006. The series was inspired by the 2000 anime film Blood: The Last Vampire.
